As well, multiple homes provide habitats to Monarch Waystations. Mayor Grafstein has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with her signing of the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge and looks forward to engaging residents in building more pollinator habitat throughout the city.

With a combined enrollment of over 50,000 students, the universities attract all walks of life and bring in a variety of cultural, sports, and entertainment amenities to the Denton community. The City is also known for its music and arts community and strong commitment to sustainability through actions such as its 100% renewable electricity supply. Since becoming a member of Monarch City USA and Bee City USA, the City of Denton has shown its commitment to pollinator protection through the creation of pollinator gardens and the development of numerous gardening workshops and events, such as Monarch Madness.

Priceville is a City of approx 3850, located in northern Alabama. Priceville is a bedroom community to three of the largest cities in Alabama. Priceville is a rural farming community that borders Wheeler Wildlife Refuge is home to about 80 whooping cranes and is very conscious of wildlife. As Mayor I pledge to encourage people to plant milkweed in their yard gardens and along our WWT treatment plant right of way to help save the Monarch Butterfly.

Cave Spring is a small historic town in North Georgia. We have a beautiful cave and spring, that supplies the water to the city. We have a Rosalynn Carter Butterfly Garden in the downtown square. We have a very rural community with lots of farmers and gardeners, and understand the importance of our monarch butterflies and other pollinators. It is important to us that we support those pollinators.

Hendersonville is a small city in western North Carolina with a population of roughly 16,000. Nestled by the Blue Ridge Mountains, it is home to the beautiful Oklawaha Greenway, a 3.5-mile trail winding through wetlands, meadows, and forests connecting four public parks. The heart of Hendersonville’s downtown area sports a two-story pollinator mural complete with illustrations of the Monarch Butterfly’s life cycle above a demonstration pollinator garden. A few blocks away, artists transformed a city sidewalk into a honey-combed yellow brick road which pedestrians can meander through an illustrative border garden of native plants and pollinators. The City of Hendersonville is committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with the annual signing of the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge and will continue to engage residents in building more pollinator habitat throughout the city.
