The City of St. Louis is located on the eastern border of Missouri along the banks of the mighty Mississippi River. This location is a natural byway for Monarch butterfly migration. In 2014, St. Louis began its Milkweeds for Monarchs initiative and has established well over 400 green spaces with milkweed and nectar sources to support the Monarch and other pollinators. Mayor Tishaura O. Jones continues the City’s important efforts to support pollinators and connect residents with nature. Monarch and pollinator gardens will continue to be established and maintained in city parks, neighborhoods, schools and at homes across St. Louis.

Mayor Cownie has committed to conservation and sustainable practices that enhance our city as well as provide habitat for monarch butterflies, pollinators, and wildlife in our city.

The Village of Woodbury is considered the Gateway to Orange County in the beautiful state of New York. I have been Mayor for the Village of Woodbury since January 1st, 2022. One of my first actions was to re-establish our climate smart Taskforce. We are committing to increasing eduction about the plight of monarch butterflies and other pollinators. Work has already begun to hit our goals.

Village of Johnsburg is a beautiful, quaint, and bustling community, the Village of Johnsburg, Illinois welcomes all to the neighborhood, monarch's too for the 2nd annual year! There is something for everyone in our village. From gorgeous views along Pistakee Lake, amazing village parks for recreational activities, to afternoons laughing with friends and family in the backyard, our village is right where you want to be. With around 6,400 residents in the village, you have the opportunity to make great friendships and be part of a growing community. Our village is expanding economically and recreationally, but we’ll never lose sight of our heritage, or give up our connection with nature or hometown values. Village President Edwin P. Hettermann and Trustee/Community Affairs Chair Beth Foreman has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with their signing of the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge for the 2nd annual consecutive year and looks forward to engaging residents in building more pollinator habitat throughout the Village. Further improvements including discussion on "No Mow May" which adds to an environment-friendly practice that is on the rise in a move to help emerging insects and early season pollinators.
