The Village of Huntley has a population of almost 30,000 and is located in Chicago's "Golden Corridor" at the crossroads of 1-90 and Route 47. Huntley is among the fastest growing communities in the Chicago area. Village President Hoeft is committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators by signing the Mayors' Monarch Pledge. The Village of Huntley looks forward to engaging with residents to encourage awareness and engagement to build more pollinator habitats throughout the Village.

Pacific Grove is a community of 15,000 located on the Pacific coast in Monterey County, California. We are an overwintering site for Monarch butterflies and have enormous community support for the iconic butterfly, which is incorporated into our city logo, and is part of the identity of the city. Each year we hold a Butterfly Parade to welcome the butterflies to town; with school children of all ages participating, and enthusiastic spectator support, this event a community-wide celebration. We are sustaining our Monarch Sanctuary and will be continuing and initiating new efforts to encourage residents to plant nectar gardens and maintain safe landscapes for the Monarchs.

Highland Park is a small city on the shores of Lake Michigan 25 miles north of Chicago. With towering lake bluffs, secluded ravines, and wooded lots, the city has always had a special relationship with nature and the character of the city is defined by large old oaks and hickories. Mayor Rotering has committed to increasing pollinator habitat by removing invasive species such as buckthorn from public land and replacing it with native perennials, shrubs, and trees.

The City of St. Louis Park is a fully developed first tier suburb of Minneapolis. Understanding the impacts of this development level, St. Louis Park has committed to being a leader in environmental stewardship as one of its strategic objectives. St. Louis Park is also home to 52 parks and the Westwood Hills Nature Center which educates and connects the urban population with the natural environment. Mayor Spano of St. Louis Park is committing to promote the addition and enhancement of habitat in parks and throughout the city that supports and protects the monarch butterfly and other pollinators by signing the Mayor’s Pledge.

Malvern is a small borough in southeastern Pennsylvania with a population of roughly 3,000 covering approximately one square mile of Chester County. The Borough is home to many open spaces including Randolph Woods and the site of the Paoli Massacre that occurred during the Revolutionary War. Mayor Uzman of the Borough of Malvern has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with the signing of the mayors' Monarch Pledge and looks forward to engaging residents in building more pollinator habitat throughout the borough.

Cuero, Texas is a community of 8256 ; located in South Central Texas, and proud of its heritage, its history, and its hospitality. The community's citizens, once informed of the decline of the Monarch population, began planting pollinator plants in private places. Students at elementary and junior high studied the monarch through Cuero and prepared posters sharing important facts about butterflies, monarch's in particular. In addition students built small native gardens at their schools to help migration. AS Mayor of Cuero I encourage citizens to plant natives and other pollinator plants in their gardens. I , as Mayor have signed the Monarch Pledge for the last six years.

The Town of Hempstead is proud to be America's largest township, with a population of approximately 770,000 people, and also one of the nation’s oldest, dating back to 1644. Bordering New York City to the east, and the Hempstead Bay estuary and Atlantic Ocean on the southern border, the town encompasses more than 142 square miles, 20,000 acres of wetlands, and 180 miles of coastal waterways. In the Town's first year of taking the Pledge in 2022, Leadership Circle status was achieved. For the second year participating in the pledge, the Town is committing to various actions that build upon programs established in 2022, including public outreach and education about native pollinator plants that support monarch populations, a citizen science project where the town will be tagging monarch butterflies in partnership with Camp ANCHOR in Lido Beach, and installing several new demonstration gardens at town facilities. The town owns and operates a greenhouse that is focused on native pollinator plant species that will be able to support many of these action items.

The city is committed to making Sun Prairie a leading sustainable, vibrant and environmentally friendly community by taking steps to conserve energy, reduce waste, and preserve our natural resources. The city is looking forward to engaging residents in building more pollinator-friendly habitats throughout the community.

The Township of Carling is a rural municipality located in Northern Ontario. This will be the fifth time we have taken the Mayors Monarch Pledge. We will continue to promote a monarch friendly environment within the Township by educating our ratepayers and our staff. We will continue to grow our monarch garden and will encourage our ratepayers to do the same.

Founded in 1778, the City of Louisville is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and sits on the banks of the Ohio River sharing the border with Indiana. Mayor Craig Greenberg is continuing Louisville’s support and is joining over 600 fellow mayors across the U.S. in support of monarch butterfly and pollinator conservation by signing the National Wildlife Federation’s “Mayor’s Monarch Pledge”. With the monarch butterfly population declining by 80% over the last 20 years, the monarch butterfly has emerged as an ambassador species to raise awareness for all pollinators and ecosystem health about their need for milkweed plants as well as other native wildflowers that provide nectar for food. Mayor Greenberg is dedicated to environmental health by supporting sustainable monarch conservation efforts through encouraging, educating, and empowering citizens that their efforts to create more pollinator habitat throughout the community can have a lasting impact. The Louisville Zoo is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) and an agency of the Louisville Metro Government. The Louisville Zoo is also partner of the AZA’s Saving Animals From Extinction (S.A.F.E.) North American Monarch Butterfly Program.
