The Borough of Sewickley is located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, approximately 11 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. Sewickley is a Native American word for "sweet water" and has a history that dates back to the mid 1700's, with the first written mention of Sewickley dated December 31, 1767. The Borough was incorporated in 1853 and has a population of approximately 3,931. Sewickley is 1 square mile and offers a wide variety of amenities as well as many community events throughout the year. Mayor Shannon has committed to saving the Monarch butterfly and other pollinators with the signing of the Mayors' Monarch Pledge and looks forward to engaging residents in building more pollinator habitats throughout the Borough.

Cheltenham Township is the first suburb of Philadelphia, home to a population of over 37,000. Cheltenham proudly maintains over 20 parks or open green spaces for residents to enjoy, and also has many resident volunteers who work to support and protect native plants and wildlife in the parks. Encouraged by its active Environmental Advisory Council, Sustainable Cheltenham committed to a list of 10 Sustainability Goals in 2013, including Ecological Stewardship. Cheltenham's Board of Commissioners first committed to the Mayors Monarch Pledge in 2022, and looks forward to strengthening the efforts of our community to support monarch and pollinator habitat in the years to come.

The Borough of Hatboro is a 1.5 square mile town located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Hatboro was established in the year 1715 named after early resident John Dawson’s profession: hat manufacturing. The Borough of Hatboro is full of rich history, having the only school located on a battlefield in the United States (Crooked Billet Elementary School), Pennsylvania’s third oldest Libraries, land that was once part of the underground railroad, a clock made by Isaiah Lukens, historic buildings, and more! The Borough of Hatboro also hosted George Washington and his troops multiple times during the Revolutionary War. Today, Hatboro is a vibrant, diverse town and home to approximately 7,500 residents. Borough Council, Mayor, and staff strive to serve the residents of Hatboro with a responsive government in order to provide highest quality services to the community.

Audubon is a town with 9,000 residents living in one square mile in Camden County, New Jersey. Our resident lead Sustainable Audubon has been educating the town on many important environmental issues. This includes promoting the use of native plants and giving out trees to build our canopy. Two rain gardens were built as demonstration projects that included native plants and pollinators. They also added a monarch waystation in our public park. This is in addition to a waystation created by students at one of our grade schools. More waystations are being planned while this team of volunteers educates and encourages others in town to increase pollinators on their own properties.

Weston, as the westernmost city in Broward County, backs up against the Everglades, making environmental stewardship one of our greatest responsibilities. We've taken on the task of promoting "Florida-friendly landscaping" by sharing valuable local resources and guides in our community. We're also working towards certification as a National Wildlife Foundation Community Wildlife Habitat. As part of our efforts, we sponsored the registration of over a dozen local homes as Certified Wildlife Habitats - recognizing their use of pollinator-supporting plants.

McKees Rocks is a great little borough in Western Pennsylvania. Located right next door to the city of Pittsburgh we are 10 to 15 minutes away from almost everywhere. A borough rich in history, McKees Rocks fell onto some hard times when the Steel industry collapsed. Today though we are committed to bringing this Borough into the modern age. With a dedication to modern best practices and embracing today's technologies, McKees Rocks is on the move to a much brighter future. That being said, we are also paying close attention to the garden around us as well. There is a growing group of dedicated volunteers who have been picking trash, planting flowers and ENGAGING with our residents in a different and inviting way. Keep an eye on McKees Rocks. We are doing things, growing and reaching for the promise that is the American Dream. We are going to get there.

As one of the top 10 college towns in the country, Lincoln covers 101.65 square miles with a population of just over 290,000 and is the second largest city in Nebraska. Lincoln has an impressive community wide parks and recreation system that includes 128 parks, 85 playgrounds, 134 miles of trails, 10 pools, 5 recreation centers, and 5 public golf courses. Amenities like these are vital for our community's health, safety, quality of life, and economic prosperity. Lincoln is committed the preservation of precious ecosystems and native habitats that protect the monarch butterfly and other pollinators.

Oakville, Ontario is a growing community located in the west-end of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The town’s livability, strong job market, and continued investment from industry leaders have earned Oakville a reputation as one of Canada’s top 20 best locations for investment. With a growing population of 215, 700, Oakville is adamant on preserving its existing green spaces, heritage designations, parks and trails with much focus on Gold/Silver LEED certified facilities and an electric bus fleet with emphasis on increasing ridership. It's trails, parks, waterfront, green spaces, community facilities, and clean air in Oakville contribute greatly to this town's success. It has more trees, bicycle lanes, and green space per capita than Edmonton, Vancouver, or Victoria. As noted by the World Council on City Data, Oakville is at the forefront of improving air quality, and this is further evidenced by Oakville's own Health Protection Air Quality Bylaw. Oakville remains committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators. By signing the Mayor's Monarch Pledge, it looks forward to engaging residents in building more pollinator habitat throughout the city.
