The City of Loretto is a small city, population 647, on the western edge of Hennepin County, Minnesota. Our Mayor and City Council Members have once again unanimously supported renewing the Mayors' Monarch Pledge. 2024 will be Loretto’s sixth year participating in the Pledge. The city is committed to improving the Monarch habitat through community education, planting and maintaining milkweed and pollinator gardens at city parks and supporting a milkweed seed giveaway.

The Village of Quogue is located on the east end of Long Island in Suffolk County with a year-round population of approximately 1,000. The Village is a beachfront community with many seasonal residents. By signing the Mayors' Monarch Pledge, Mayor Treuhold has confirmed his commitment to contributing to the crucial efforts to save monarch butterflies and other pollinators. The Mayor looks forward to engaging residents in building more pollinator gardens throughout the Village.

Mayor Neitzke, along with other city leaders, acknowledges the importance of monarchs and other pollinators to local agriculture, ecosystems and economies. Greenfield is committed to maintaining a pollinator-friendly community by engaging with residents to build more native habitats and installing perennial and native gardens on public lands.

The Village of Ardsley is located in Westchester County, New York and has a population of ~5,000 residents. The Village is committed to and has already taken many actions to help the monarch butterfly including increasing public awareness of the issue and encouraging residents to build gardens for monarchs. The Village has launched the Ardsley Pollinator Pathway Project to help save endangered pollinators. The Village is aware of the importance of saving monarchs and other pollinators and believes that encouraging the expansion of native plantings will not only benefit monarchs but all native species, as well as providing natural and beautiful spaces for Village residents. Ardsley earned the Leadership Circle Achievement for the National Wildlife Federation's Mayors Monarch Pledge in 2022 and 2023. The Village is proud to support our beloved monarch butterflies.

Nibley is located in northern eastern Utah in the center of the beautiful and scenic Cache Valley. It is a small, bedroom community with a rural feel and a population of 8,000. One of the many features of Nibley is its abundant park system which includes Firefly Nature Park. Firefly Park supports wild populations of both fireflies and monarchs and features a large pollinator garden that is tended to by the community. In 2023, Nibley City added an outdoor classroom at Firefly Park for our community to learn about nature, including monarch conservation. Mayor Jacobsen is committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators by re-signing the Mayor’s Pledge, engaging residents in building more pollinator habitat, and pursuing opportunities to educate the public on the value of pollinators in our ecosystems.

Warwick City Park is the largest park with 126 acres of walking trails, fields, a dog park and a beach. There are several other smaller parks within the City. Mayor Picozzi is committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with the signing of the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge and the creation of pollinator gardens throughout the City and looks forward to engaging residents in building their own pollinator habitats throughout the City.

The Village of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois, located just 35 miles north of the City of Chicago with approximately 9,062 residents, is an upscale, friendly “rural by design” community. As a certified Bee City USA and Tree City USA affiliate, an Audubon International Sustainable Community, and an International Dark Sky Community, the Village is fiercely committed to protecting our natural resources, boasting twenty-four park sites and four pollinator habitats – Brierwoods Preserve, Meadowlark Park and Arboretum, Indian Creek Preserve, and the Hawthorn Heritage Outdoor Museum Trail.
