Townsend was incorporated with the State of Delaware on April 3, 1885, and was named after the primary land owners of that time. Today, the Town has 5 neighborhoods and is home to approximately 3,000 residents. Mayor, Scott Lobdell governs town activities with assistance from four council members and administrative oversight from Town Staff. Under the Mayor’s governance, Townsend is committed to preserving a Wildlife Habitat for Monarch butterflies behind the Townhall.

The Village of Seneca is located in central Illinois with a population of 2,353. Seneca is proud of its three parks, including Crotty Park, Graves Park and the LST Boat Launch, with the recent addition of a Bark Park for our furry friends. We have beautiful planters throughout downtown Seneca and flower beds in all of our parks. Our community garden, located behind village hall on Main Street, has a butterfly garden that was recently planted by our local Girl Scouts. Graves Park has a pollinator garden and beautifully attracts butterflies of all types. Mayor Olson is committed to the National Wildlife Federation Mayors' Monarch Pledge and looks forward to adding more pollinators to our beautiful village.

The Village of Ridgefield Park has a population of 13,000+ residents. The Hackensack River touches our borders. On June 3, 2023 local officials, members from the Bergen County Board of Commissioners and residents of the Village celebrated the unveiling and grand opening of the Nature Preserve which is the culmination of 50 years of planning. The space is constructed with an ADA interpretive trail and boardwalk throughout. Increasing interest in the space along with nature walks regularly offered by the Environmental Commission has shown that our residents wish to expand their knowledge in sustainable plantings they can do for monarch and pollinator conservation.

Minnetonka Beach, Minnesota is a community of approximately 535 residents and 230 homes located west of Minneapolis on beautiful Lake Minnetonka. As a lake community, we are very mindful of the importance of being responsible stewards of our environment so we can preserve the beauty of our lake and community. We are on a journey to revive and restore our community parks with native plants and gardens which are both beautiful and provide an ecosystem for beneficial insects and wildlife. Monarch butterflies are important pollinators which we are trying to support with the planting of milkweed and nectar producing plants. We signed the Mayor's Monarch Pledge in 2021 and would like to renew that Pledge in 2023 to further engage our residents in building a more pollinator-friendly habitat throughout the Village.

Concord, North Carolina, population 108,000, is the 10th largest and 6th fastest growing city in the state of NC. Concord is also a NWF Community Wildlife Habitat that partners with the community to deliver excellent service, and plans for the future while preserving, protecting, and enhancing the quality of life. Concord is concerned about its natural, historic, economic, and aesthetic resources and work to preserve and enhance them for future generations. Mayor Dusch is making the pledge to ensure Concord is a welcoming place for pollinators.

In 2020, the population of Solana Beach was approximately 13,000 residents. The City's boundaries enclose an area of 3.5 mi2 with 1.7 miles set along the coastline. Temperatures average 62 degrees in winter and 77 degrees in the summertime. Mayor Lesa Heebner and the City Council has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators by signing this Mayors’ Monarch Pledge and looks forward to engaging residents to build more pollinator habitat throughout the city.
