The Village of Shorewood is located in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. Approximately a mile square, the Village is bordered by Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee River. It's population of more than 13,000 people is known for it's diversity and commitment to education and environment.The Village of Shorewood is committed to the creation and preservation of natural wildlife habitats . As part of those efforts, the Shorewood Monarch Project, an inter-generational community initiative, was created to increase awareness about the importance of butterflies, bees, and other pollinating insects and to encourage residents to conserve and create healthy habitats for pollinators in their own yards. The village maintains two certified Monarch Waystations including a colossal waystation along the Lake Michigan migratory pathway. Shorewood has participated in the Mayor's Monarch Pledge since 2016 at a leadership level. We are also a member of the Wisconsin Monarch Collaborative. Our local efforts include maintaining a number of native public gardens and green spaces throughout the Village, annual distribution of milkweed plants, encouraging residents to create butterfly gardens by offering workshops, garden photo-contests, and social media posts. We also work with schools on education efforts related to butterfly conservation. Our local public library hosts an annual live caterpillar to butterfly exhibit to educate the public about the monarch life cycle and generate interest in the plight of monarch butterflies.

City of Edgewood voted #1 city in the state of Kentucky to live in and #17 in the nation in 2019. Where our branding phrase is “Where every day is a walk in the park”. We have two large parks, Presidents Park and Freedom Park. We also have Victory Park which is a small pocket park; all are within walking distance within the city limits. We are a comfortable, cozy, and an affordable community with a population of 8500. We have multiple areas with plantings that are committed to monarch and pollinator conservation.

Walnut Grove is a small town in the heart of Mississippi with a population of just over 500. The town is just 1.62 square miles located in the Tuscolameta Creek swamp at the edge of the red clay hills region. The town has many patches of wildflowers and other planted beds throughout the Town great for pollinators. Mayor Gomillion and his leadership team have committed to saving the monarch butterfly and many other pollinators with his signing of the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge and looks forward to continuing to engage the community through building for pollinator habitat each year.

Satellite Beach is a city of roughly 11,000 residents and 2.92 square miles, located on the Space Coast, just several miles south of Cape Canaveral, in Brevard County. The City is on a barrier island, sandwiched between the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, and is home to a 52-acre island nature preserve and over 17 acres of coastal conservation land. Additionally, Satellite Beach has created a demonstration garden in front of City Hall consisting of over 8,000 square feet of native plants. Mayor Steve Osmer of Satellite Beach, FL has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with their signing of the Mayor's Monarch Pledge and looks forward to engaging residents in enhancing and expanding pollinator habitat throughout the city.

Covington is located in Northern Kentucky directly across the river from Cincinnati. Covington has just over 40,000 residents and is home to the beautiful 700 acre Devou Park that features prairies and pollinator gardens throughout. We also have a number of pollinator gardens in parks throughout our city. In 2017, Mayor Joseph Meyer signed a proclamation for the city to join the Mayor's Monarch Pledge. Since then we have installed numerous gardens and formed a community monarch coalition that helps us carry out chosen action items. Mayor Joseph Meyer continues to support this effort by repledging in 2023.

Manassas is an urban habitat of 45,000 people located 20 miles southwest of Washington, DC. The city is 10 square miles and has 230 acres of parkland and open space. In 2020 the city adopted a goal that Manassas would be a sustainable and resilient city that values the environment, encourages access to nature, and provides a safe, pleasant and healthy community for residents of all ages, abilities and incomes. A strategy to achieving that goal includes, "Supporting the conservation of local and regional biodiversity by promoting the protection and enhancement of native plant communities and pollinator and wildlife habitats while managing invasive plant and animal species."
