It has a charming, bucolic character, over 89% of its open space is dedicated parkland and it has a significant trail network. It also has active pollinator pathway and “Adopt-a- Spot” programs that engage and educate residents about the importance of biodiversity, native plants and pollinators. The Mayor of Hastings-on-Hudson, Nicola Armacost, has committed to protecting the monarch butterfly and other pollinators by signing the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge and encourages residents to continue building pollinator habitat throughout the municipality.

Established April 2nd, 1850, the Township of Schaumburg provides human care services to 140,000 residents in the Illinois villages of Elk Grove, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, Schaumburg and Streamwood. The Township also offers a myriad of social services including, but not limited to, senior, disability and welfare services; local transportation for seniors and people with disabilities; a 100% donation-based food pantry; unincorporated Township road maintenance; passport and notary public services; property and tax assessment assistance; Deaf services; as well as general information and referral services. In addition, we also partner to provide veterans services, youth and family services and nursing consultations. We are committed to doing our part to save the monarchs and are excited to work with the community.

The Village of Yellow Springs, Ohio--population 3700 plus--is located in SW Ohio. Home of Antioch College, we are 20 minutes east of Dayton and a quick hour west of Columbus. Glen Helen, a 1000 acre nature preserve with over 21 miles of hiking trails along with creeks and waterways that feed into the Little Miami Scenic River, runs the length of the village and connects to the Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve and John Bryan State Park. Yellow Springs has a Wildlife Habitat Community public Facebook page with 514 members.--check us out! Many villagers are re-wilding their properties under the leadership of our village Environmental Commission and over 108 NWF Certified Wildlife Habitat signs dot village yards. Mayor Pam is happy to add the Mayors' Monarch Pledge to our village efforts in support of increasing habitats for monarchs and other pollinators.

The Village of Northbrook is a northern suburb of Chicago with a population of over 35,000. We are proud to be the home of some of the highest quality nature preserves in Illinois: Somme Preserves. Thanks to our volunteer ecological stewards who have been dedicated to natural restoration in our area since the 1970s, many rare plants and endangered animals nest or pass by our community during migratory periods. Through the Northbrook Climate Action Plan, the Village is committed to reducing community-wide carbon emissions and fostering environmental sustainability.

Lexington and Fayette County are located in the Inner Bluegrass Region of Central Kentucky. The Lexington Fayette Urban County Government is a merged city/county government that serves the citizens of this community. Lexington is the 2nd largest city in Kentucky and is considered cultural hub for the region. Agriculture and tourism are key industries to the area as we are known as the Horse Capital of the World and internationally known for the Bourbon produced locally. Without pollinators these industries that are part of the cultural identity of the Bluegrass State wouldn't exist. Lexington hopes to lead the way for our neighbors across the state in promoting and protecting vulnerable pollinator habitat.

Orion Township is a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, with a population of approximately 40,000. Home to Bald Mountain State Recreation Area, Orion Oaks County Park, 5 Township Parks, hundreds of miles of trails and safety paths, and 42 lakes over 5 acres. Orion Township is committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with our signing of the Mayors' Monarch Pledge and look forward to engaging residents to build even more pollinator habitats throughout the community.

The City of Rockwall has nine Monarch Waystations, several prairie grass areas and the Pettinger Nature Preserve. The Parks and Recreation Department manages these with the assistance of the Butterfly Brigade and Butterfly Battalion that consist of volunteers that manage the way stations weekly year around. We are committed to protecting and preserving areas for our important pollinators.

Lafayette is a city in central Indiana that is located between Chicago, IL and Indianapolis, IN along with Wabash River. We are located next to Purdue University and home to many beautiful parks and community gardens, as well as the home of the Columbian Park Zoo. Mayor Roswarski has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with the signing of the Monarch Pledge. The Columbian Park Zoo is home to the Butterfly Garden Party walk through exhibit, and the zoo looks forward to educating visitors in building more pollinator habitats within the community.
