Bastrop is a city within the Texas Monarch Flyway, making it an important destination for both the spring and fall Monarch migration. Bastrop currently has three active pollinator projects: Bastrop Public Library; Bob Bryant Park; and the new one coming online in 2024 in front of the City Hall. Bastrop is committed to increasing pollinator gardens on public land to help local pollinators and the Monarch butterfly and to encourage the public to get involved with this ongoing effort.

Located 20 miles north of Detroit, Michigan, the City of Rochester boasts a population of around 13,000. Established in 1817, it holds the distinction of being the first colonial settlement in Oakland County. Despite its modest size, the city features ample green spaces and demonstrates a dedicated commitment to the preservation of the Monarch butterfly by planting milkweed and other Michigan native plants. This commitment has been evident in previous years and continues into 2024, marking Rochester as a designated Monarch Champion City for two consecutive years, 2022 and 2023.

League City is a waterfront community nestled along the shores of Clear Creek in Galveston County, Texas, with a 2023 population of 118,740. It's located in the Greater Houston Metropolitan area with close proximity to Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. League City is home to South Shore Harbor Resort and Conference Center and two Regional Parks (Challenger 7 Memorial Park and Walter Hall Park). Additionally, there are 16 City Parks, including the 148 acre Dr. Ned and Fay Dudney Clear Creek Nature Center. The City is also part of the Great Texas Birding Trail. League City has begun efforts to save our State insect, the Monarch Butterfly, and other pollinators by signing the pledge, as well as becoming a Bee City USA affiliate, to encourage our citizens to provide pollinators with a healthy habitat throughout the City.

The city of Englewood is located in Bergen County, the northernmost county of New Jersey. This bedroom community of New York City, is growing rapidly approaching 30,000 residents. Englewood is fondly known as the city of trees. Our community is committed to supporting conservation efforts and restoration projects to ensure a healthy and clean environment for all to live play and work.

The Village of Ridgefield Park, Bergen County, New Jersey, Settled in 1685, proudly boasts one of the longest continuous Fourth of July parades in the USA. Like this grand country, Ridgefield Park is a rich source of good old American history. Ridgefield Park has a population of approximately 13,300 (5,800 households) and has 1.71 square miles of land. We have a newly constructed nature preserve, two beautiful community gardens and six pollinator gardens. Mayor Anlian committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators during his tenure with his signing of the Mayors' Monarch Pledge and looks forward to engaging residents in building more pollinator habitats throughout the village. Mayor MacNeill, elected in 2024, continues to support the pledge.

The City of Florence is located in Boone County, Kentucky. With roughly 32,000 residents, we are one of the fastest-growing communities in Northern Kentucky. We have 6 active parks, a Nature Park and several green spaces around the City. Mayor Aubuchon is committed to the restoration of monarch butterfly habitat in our community.

Village of Johnsburg is a beautiful, quaint, and bustling community, the Village of Johnsburg, Illinois welcomes all to the neighborhood, monarch's too for the 3rd annual year! Approximately 7 miles from the Wisconsin border an easily accessible to both Milwaukee and Chicago, Johnsburg is highly sought out by those desiring a more rural lifestyle without sacrificing access to employment, shopping, dining and services. There is something for everyone in our village; from gorgeous views along Pistakee Lake, amazing village parks for recreational activities, to afternoons laughing with friends and family in the backyard, our village is right where you want to be. With around 6,400 residents in the village, you have the opportunity to make great friendships and be part of a growing community. Our village is expanding economically and recreationally, but we’ll never lose sight of our heritage, or give up our connection with nature or hometown values. Village President Edwin P. Hettermann and Trustee/Community Affairs Committee Chair Mike Fouke has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with their signing of the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge for the 3rd annual consecutive year and looks forward to engaging residents in building more pollinator habitat throughout the Village. Further improvements including the resolution for "No Mow May" which adds to an environment-friendly practice that is on the rise in a move to help emerging insects and early season pollinators.

The Borough of Franklin Park is a quiet, safe, residential municipality located in Allegheny County, PA. It is approximately twenty (20) miles north of the City of Pittsburgh, encompasses 13.5 square miles, and has a population of 15,500. The Borough has four parks, 280 total acres of protected green space and continues to work on providing natural habitats, gardens, and meadow areas with the commitment to monarch and pollinator conservation. Mayor O’Keefe, Borough Council, and the Borough’s EAC are committed to protecting, preserving, and enhancing natural areas.

The City of Perris is in Southern California with a population of roughly 80,000. The city is centrally located in the Inland Empire and home to nearly 30 community gardens. Mayor Vargas of Perris, CA has committed to signing the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge and looks forward to engaging with residents to create healthy, sustainable habitats for the monarch butterflies and pollinators, while educating residents about how they can make a difference at home and in their community.
