Ann Arbor is a city located along the picturesque Huron River in southeast Michigan. With a population of about 120,000, it is home to over 160 parks, totaling about 2,200 acres. Over half of those acres are comprised of natural areas which are managed and maintained by the Natural Area Preservation division of the Parks and Recreation Services Unit. The University of Michigan and Washtenaw County also own and maintain significant natural acreage within the city. Mayor Christopher Taylor has signed the Mayors' Monarch Pledge in recognition of the importance of the monarch butterfly and other pollinators to the health of our ecosystems and our citizens. We are committed to protecting and restoring our precious pollinator habitat.

Mountain Brook is a city in central Alabama, a picturesque place known for its winding, forested roads and park-like setting; a vision of its original developer Robert Jemison, Jr. and landscape architect Warren H. Manning. Among other "green" initiatives supported by Mayor Welch, he has committed to participate in efforts to save the Monarch Butterfly and support all pollinator habitats by signing the Mayor's Monarch Pledge. He looks forward to engaging the Mountain Brook community in the city's efforts to bolster the pollinator ecosystems of Alabama.

Grosse Pointe Park is located on the southwestern shore of Lake St. Clair, bordering Detroit, with a population of 11,027. We have committed to the Mayor's Monarch Pledge, earning Leadership Circle status in 2016 under Mayor Robert Denner, and in 2023 under our current Mayor Michele Hodges. Grosse Pointe Park will continue these efforts toward being a more pollinator-friendly city by working in partnership with its newly formed sustainability committee, under the GPP Beautification Commission. Our goal is to build a healthy, sustainable and wild-life friendly community.

The City of Topeka is the capital city of Kansas, with a population of approximately 126,000 residents. Topeka is supportive of its wild places and the wild animals and plants that depend on those places. Topeka supports conservation of monarchs and other pollinators through a variety of strategies including native restoration at construction or improvements projects, and significant amounts of education and hands-on conservation work through efforts at the Topeka Zoo and Conservation Center in Topeka.

Cherry Hill Township is home to more than 70,000 residents and has taken steps to establish and preserve a variety of natural resources for the community to enjoy and experience. For more than 30 years, the Township has managed a 150+ plot Community Garden area. In recent years, the Township has established 10 pollinator gardens on Township-owned land and encouraged residents to establish pollinator gardens on their own property. Mayor Fleisher has already demonstrated a commitment to open space preservation in his short time in office and looks forward to continuing to establish pollinator gardens on Township property and educating residents on the benefits of these developments.

The Village of Evergreen Park is a residential suburb surrounded by Chicago on three sides with a population of nearly 20,000. The Village is home to nine parks and open areas that are a mix of mini parks, neighborhood parks and larger, community parks. Amenities include ball fields, an urban barn, walking paths, and water features. Mayor Burke has committed to taking steps to save the monarch butterfly and other pollinators and looks forward to engaging residents in building more pollinator friendly habitats in the Village.

We are a small village of around 800 residents right on the Fox River. We are lucky to have a lot of wildlife in our village, including a population of Rusty-patched Bumblebees. We are looking to further support pollinators and other wildlife in our village.

The City of Fort Atkinson is a vibrant community located along the Rock River, a few miles upstream from Lake Koshkonong, in Jefferson County. Fort Atkinson is the largest city located entirely in the county. The City has participated in No Mow May for the last several years to encourage the survival of pollinators. The City is working with a group called Heart of the City, which works to make the City of Fort Atkinson a better place.
