The City of Dana Point is a beachside community in southern California that is home to over 30,000 residents. Dana Point is named after author/adventurer Richard Henry Dana Jr. who described the area as the "only romantic spot on the coast" in his book Two Years Before the Mast. Dana Point has long been a stop over for the western Monarch Butterfly during their migration, so much so that one of our coastal communities is called Monarch Beach. The City has committed to creating Monarch habitat throughout the community to ensure that Monarch butterflies continue to have a place to rest, relax or call home in Dana Point.

President Sosine of Algonquin, IL has committed to saving the Monarch butterfly and other pollinators with the signing of the Mayors' Monarch Pledge and looks forward to engaging the community in establishing more pollinator habitat throughout the Village.

Cedar Falls is a city in North East Iowa with a population of roughly 41,000. The City is home to the University of Northern Iowa, one of the three regent universities in the state, and widely recognized for it's endearing mix of bigger city amenities with a small town feel. A nationally recognized downtown and eclectic mix of both urban and rural living lend toward a feeling of home whether you've lived here all your life or are just visiting. But a part of that feeling is only possible because of the balance of city life and natural beauty that Cedar Falls has. Mayor Danny Laudick has committed to ensuring we protect our natural spaces, and part of that commitment includes protecting the native environment and wellbeing of our monarch butterfly and other pollinator species.

The Borough of Eatontown has a population of roughly 13,500, and is located in central New Jersey near the coast. Eatontown has over 100 acres of parkland with two pollinator gardens as well as a very large community garden. Mayor Talerico has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with by signing the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge again this year. He looks forward to engaging residents in building more pollinator habitat throughout the Borough.

The Town of Hyde Park is currently registered with the NWF as a community seeking certification status as a 'Community Wildlife Habitat'. Our beautiful town is nestled along the banks of the Hudson River and is home to many historical estates including Springwood, the birthplace of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The Monarch Pledge will compliment the many conservation efforts taking place in Hyde Park.

We have a dedicated group of citizens who work with elected officials to promote conservation and community greening efforts to grow and protect pollinator habitats.

City of Shavano Park is a small city of about 3,500 located in northwest Bexar County at the edge of the Texas Hill Country, approximately twelve miles north of downtown San Antonio, and along the Olmos and Salado Creeks. Shavano Park and the rest of south-central Texas are visited annually by the migrating Monarch butterflies and home to many native wildflowers that support the species. City of Shavano Park pledges to continue education efforts that emphasize the importance of Monarch butterflies to the region's habitat and encourage the planting of native wildflowers that support Monarch butterflies by residents and businesses owners of the City.
