The Village of Lakemoor is Located i both Lake and Mchenry County and is bordered by Several Natural preserves (Morain Hills State park, Volo Bog, and The Black Crown Marsh. Mayor McIntyre has committed the Village to making improvements in the Village to increase the Numbers of Monarch Butterflies and Pollinators.

The City of Atlantic Beach is a small community located on a barrier island in Northeastern Florida's Duval County. The city consists of 13 square miles of which just 27 percent is land with the remainder being water. Approx. 14,000 residents make their homes in between the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Tidal Marsh to the west. The city is actively engaged in sustainability and resilience programs which seek to preserve the natural beauty of our community and to protect our natural resources for the generation to come. We continue our Mayor's Monarch Pledge to educate and involve out citizens in a noble endeavor to save monarch butterfly habitats as well as promoting interest in similar programs.

Sun Prairie has become known in the region for its high quality of life, its excellent parks and recreation programs, historic downtown, exceptional public school system, and progressive approach to the development and redevelopment of the community. The city is committed to making Sun Prairie a leading sustainable, vibrant and environmentally friendly community by taking steps to conserve energy, reduce waste, and preserve our natural resources. The city is looking forward to engaging residents in building more pollinator-friendly habitats throughout the community.

The Town of York, comprised of Cape Neddick, York Harbor, York Village and York Beach, is in the southern tip of Maine and has a population of over 13,000 year-round residents. This coastal community is home to the Nubble Lighthouse, Mount Agamenticus, and is famous for its long sandy beaches. York also has large areas of forest, community parks, fields, and green space along with some of the highest levels of biodiversity in the state. In our recent Comprehensive Plan, a top goal is to preserve, protect, and enhance natural resources to include wildlife habitat. We are pledging to help protect and increase public awareness of Maine’s native pollinators, to include the monarch butterfly, and their habitats.

San Marcos is a city in central Texas with a population of roughly 68,580. Located midway between Austin and San Antonio, San Marcos is a quickly growing community that is situated along a major migration route for many species including monarch butterflies. Our city has a direct impact on monarch populations as they move across this region each year. Mayor Hughson of San Marcos, TX has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with their signing of the Mayors' Monarch Pledge and looks forward to contributing to the enhancement and conservation of pollinator habitat throughout the city.

Fayetteville, Arkansas is a city of approximately 103,000 people located in the Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas and home to the University of Arkansas. Fayetteville and the Northwest Arkansas region has experienced unprecedented growth in recent decades due in part the region’s scenic beauty, low cost of living, and the home presence of multiple fortune 500 companies such as Walmart and Tyson Foods, which have brought jobs and economic development. Fayetteville’s population has increased almost 40% from the 2010 census count of 73,580. This rapid growth will undoubtedly impact the local ecology without proactive efforts to protect our natural resources and ecosystem. By participating in the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge, Mayor Jordan is leading Fayetteville in taking steps to protect our monarch and pollinator populations through direct stewardship and education activities. These efforts, combined with the participation of several other municipalities across the region, will serve to raise local awareness and increase pollinator habitat and the presence of the monarch butterfly in Fayetteville and throughout Northwest Arkansas.

This will be Mayor Gallo's third year taking the Mayors' Monarch Pledge. With six beautiful parks and 20,000 residents, Parma Heights is a prime city for caring for Monarch Butterflies. We will continue to educate others and improve the policies we have implemented to extend our resources toward the pledge's efforts.

The City of Palm Desert is a California city nestled in the heart of the Coachella Valley. With a diverse demographic, 362 days of sunshine and a population of approximately 53,000, Palm Desert is home to many beautiful parks, community gardens and other outdoor activities. Palm Desert is also home to The Living Desert Zoo & Botanical Gardens, which puts conservation into action by promoting environmental sustainability, including species preservation of many desert plants and animals, including butterflies. Mayor Karina Quintanilla of Palm Desert, California has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators by signing the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge and looks forward to continuing the City of Palm Desert’s partnership with the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens to engage residents in building more pollinator habitats throughout the City.
