We support an active Environmental Advisory Council and have pledged by resolution to the Ready for 100% initiative, to be energy sustainable by 2035, a goal that we should meet much earlier. Conshohocken also supports nearly a dozen parks and an active community garden. This is the type of town, and population, that would have tremendous interest in monarch and pollinator conservation.

The City of Waukesha is a community of approximately 70,000 residents. Residents are committed to protecting the Monarch Butterfly. The Mayor has supported their efforts and that of staff by endorsing the pledge for several years. The City has a Community Butterfly Garden, milkweed plantings and low mow areas to assist the Monarch. Educational sessions are also offered as part of the Arbor Day Celebration and has been incorporated into the Environmental Education Programs.

The many Natural Areas and Parks in Fort Collins provide habitat for Monarch butterflies and other pollinators. In addition, the Nature in the City program encourages habitat linkages throughout the city on non-city lands. With these programs in place, the Mayor commits to supporting the monarch butterfly and other pollinators by signing of the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge and looks forward to engaging the community in building more pollinator habitat throughout Fort Collins.
