Already designated as a Bee City USA, the City of Council Bluffs and Mayor Walsh have already committed to supporting sustainable practices that support pollinators in our community. Established in 1855, the Town of Whitby is situated on the north shore of Lake Ontario, 30 km east of Toronto. The Town maintains 125 parks with 840 acres of active parkland, over 1000 acres of passive open space, and approximately 75 kilometres of trails. The estimated population is 138,500 and it is expected to hit 200,000 by 2033. The Town of Whitby's mission to create and maintain a sustainable, healthy, and safe community/environment can be achieved, in part, through the maintenance, restoration, and enhancement of the Town's green infrastructure. A healthy habitat for pollinators is an integral component of the municipality.

The City of Denton is a vibrant and growing community that is home to two state universities, the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's university. With a combined enrollment of over 50,000 students, the universities attract all walks of life and bring in a variety of cultural, spots, and entertainment amenities to the Denton community. The City is also known for its music and arts scene and strong commitment to sustainability through actions such as its 100% renewable electric supply. Since becoming a member of Monarch City USA, Bee City USA, and Bird City Texas, the City of Denton has shown its commitment to pollinator protection through the creation of pollinator gardens and the development of numerous gardening workshops and events, such as Pollinator Pals and Denton's Wildlife Habitat Program.

Warwick is a City with 39 miles of coastline, located just south of RI’s capital of Providence. Warwick has a population of approximately 83,000 people and offers lots of outdoor recreation. Warwick City Park is the largest park with 126 acres of walking trails, fields, a dog park and a beach. There are several other smaller parks within the City. Mayor Picozzi is committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with the signing of the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge and the creation of pollinator gardens throughout the City and looks forward to engaging residents in building their own pollinator habitats throughout the City.

Bastrop is located within the Texas Monarch Flyway, making it a significant destination for spring and fall Monarch migrations. Bastrop has four active pollinator projects: Bastrop Public Library, Bob Bryant Park, Bastrop City Hall completed in 2024 and in 2025 Bob Bryant Park Pollinator Prairie Project. Bastrop is dedicated to expanding pollinator gardens on public land to support local pollinators and the Monarch butterfly, while also encouraging public involvement in this ongoing effort.

Lafayette is a city in central Indiana with a population of roughly 75,000. The city was settled next to the Wabash River and is situated next to Purdue University. The city is home to Columbian Park and the Columbian Park Zoo, along with many other beautiful city parks. Bella Vista is a scenic city of over 32,000 residents, located in the Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas, where nature lovers can enjoy numerous amenities, such as, multiple lakes, golf courses, and biking and hiking trails. The city also has a vibrant community that is committed to creating habitat for pollinators, especially the monarch butterfly. In 2024, Mayor Flynn has committed to restoring the monarch population by encouraging development of pollinator friendly spaces and by educating our residents about the importance of pollinator conservation.

City of Decatur

Decatur GA is an urban city in the Atlanta metro region with a population of around 27,000 people in 4.5 sq mi. There are several community gardens in Decatur, including two on cityowned property. We are a Tree City USA and a Tree City of the World. Decatur was recognized as the first BeeCity in Georgia in July 2016 and has established two bee habitat gardens. Signing the Mayor's Monarch Pledge is another opportunity for the city to commit to additional conservation efforts and is supported by the city's Active Living Board and the Environmental Sustainability Board. We look forward to continuing our work to educate the community about strategies to conserve monarchs and to taking steps to establish additional natural habitats for monarch butterflies.

Wonder Lake, located twelve miles from the Wisconsin border in the northeast corner of Illinois, is one of the fastest growing small towns in the country. Our population surrounds an 800 acre lake and we are at the southern border of the Hack-Ma-Tact conservation site.
