Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego signed the Mayor's Monarch Pledge to raise awareness and galvanize efforts to expand crucial habitat and food sources for monarch butterflies. The city looks forward to working with residents and stakeholders to increase the prevalence of native plants throughout the city to support pollinators.

The Town of Bedford, located in Westchester County just north of New York City, spans nearly 40 square miles, with 26% preserved as open land. Bedford has been at the forefront of environmental action on multiple fronts, including waste management and energy efficiency. The town enforces stringent leaf blower regulations and maintains a pesticide-free policy for parks and highways. Several public display gardens, cared for by town employees and dedicated volunteers, serve as models of sustainable landscaping. Additionally, more than 200 residents have committed their properties to the Pollinator Pathway program, supporting vital habitat for pollinators.

Mayor Doug Stewart and the rest of City Council have supported Monarch Butterflies and other pollinators in their adoption of the Mayors Monarch Pledge in past years. The City is dedicated to preservation and conservation of the natural environment and supports pollinator education through a variety of activities throughout the community. Mayor Ross has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and pollinators with the signing of the Mayor's Monarch Pledge and looks forward to engaging residents in creating more pollinator habitats throughout Cathedral City.

The City of Mountain View is looking forward to participating in its fourth year of the Mayor's Monarch Pledge and continuing our efforts to support the monarch population in Mountain View. The City plans to plant pollinators and milkweed at a prominent trailhead in Mountain View and work with local nonprofits to plant other pollinator habitats in Mountain View. We will also continue to maintain the existing pollinator habitats that have been planted in recent years through having volunteers remove invasive weeds and replace any dead plants. The City will also continue our Seed Library Program where pollinator seeds are provided to the library from the various pollinator habitats that have been created. Lastly, Mountain View will continue the process of creating a Biodiversity and Urban Forestry Plan that is expected to be completed in 2025.

Lamoine is a town of approximately 1,800 on the coast of Maine. The Lamoine Select Board first voted in December 2022 to sign the Mayors' Monarch Pledge, authorizing the town's Conservation Commission to lead a number of efforts to create more monarch butterfly and other pollinator habitat throughout the town. Our efforts have seen a great deal of success over the past two years. A number of projects are ongoing and new initiatives are planned for 2025.

Nibley is located in northern eastern Utah in the center of the beautiful and scenic Cache Valley. It is a small, bedroom community with a rural feel and a population of 8,000. One of the many features of Nibley is its abundant park system which includes Firefly Nature Park. Firefly Park supports wild populations of both fireflies and monarchs and features a large pollinator garden that is tended to by the community. In 2023-2-24, Nibley City added an outdoor classroom coupled with 8 interactive learning stations at Firefly Park and an educational website for our community to learn about nature, including monarch conservation. We hope to expand this outdoor learning program to other city nature parks in Nibley. Mayor Jacobsen is committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators by re-signing the Mayor’s Pledge, engaging residents in building more pollinator habitat, and pursuing opportunities to educate the public on the value of pollinators in our ecosystems.
