Pledge Summary

Pontiac, Michigan is a city of 62,000 and is the county seat of Oakland County. We are a strong, resilient, diverse community that is rebounding after previous automotive manufacturing operations mostly left through the decades. Our community has a public art installation focused around butterflies set for installation this year, is enlisting student artists to capture what they envision with more pollinators in our city, and is working to plant pollinator gardens throughout downtown Pontiac along our Saginaw Street main commercial corridor.

Create a community-driven educational conservation strategy, initiative, or practice that focuses on and benefits local, underserved residents.
Create a community art project to enhance and promote monarch and pollinator conservation as well as cultural awareness and recognition.

Plant or maintain a monarch and pollinator-friendly demonstration garden at City Hall or another prominent or culturally significant community location.
