Pledge Summary

The City of Somers Point occupies an area of approximately four(4) square miles having a year round resident population of +/-10,000. Situated along the coastal inland waterway of Southern New Jersey, it is surrounded on three(3) sides by tidal waters. The Somers Point Environmental Commission/Green Team in concert with the Green Thumb Gardening Club has an interest in promoting the City-wide propagation of native flora species on our private and publicly-owned/maintained spaces supporting pollinator habitats. Mayor Tapp has been an advocate for the preservation of our community's unique heritage including native ecology and sees the completion of this pledge in concert with our Environmental Commission/Green Team as a means of furthering this objective.
