Pledge Summary

Raymore, Missouri is a community of 25,000 residents located approximately 25 miles south of the Kansas City Metro Downtown area. With over 300 acres of parks, trails and natural areas; Raymore is dedicated to preservation of its native greenspace and providing quality parks and recreation experiences. Mayor Turnbow and the City Council are committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with this pledge. The City looks forward to another year creating and preserving habitats for the Monarch Butterfly.

Engage with city parks and recreation, public works, sustainability, and other relevant staff to identify opportunities to revise and maintain mowing programs and milkweed / native nectar plant planting programs.
Engage with developers, planners, landscape architects, and other community leaders and organizers engaged in planning processes to identify opportunities to create monarch habitat.
