Conshohocken Borough

Conshohocken, PA

Yaniv Aronson

Mayor

Pledge Summary

Conshohocken is only one square mile but 14,000 residents strong and committed to a green, sustainable future. We support an active Environmental Advisory Council and have pledged by resolution to the Ready for 100% initiative, to be energy sustainable by 2035, a goal that we should meet much earlier. Conshohocken also supports nearly a dozen parks and an active community garden. This is the type of town, and population, that would have tremendous interest in monarch and pollinator conservation.

Action Items Committed for 2025

Communications and Convening

  • Engage with community garden groups and urge them to plant native milkweeds and nectar-producing plants.
  • Engage with gardening leaders and partners (e.g., Master Naturalists, Master Gardeners, Nature Centers, Native Plant Society Chapters , other long-standing and influential community leaders) to support monarch butterfly conservation.

Program and Demonstration Gardens

  • Launch or maintain an outdoor education program(s) (e.g., at schools, after-school programs, community centers and groups) that builds awareness and creates habitat by engaging students, educators, and the community in planting native milkweed and pollinator-friendly native nectar plants (i.e., National Wildlife Federation’s Schoolyard Habitats program and Monarch Mission curriculum).
  • Display educational signage at monarch gardens and pollinator habitat.
