City of Opelika

Opelika, AL

Gary Fuller

Mayor

Pledge Summary

Our city embodies a rich history built on the foundations of hard work and dedication, where the echoes of our industrial past harmonize with the aspirations of our forward-thinking community. From our bustling downtown, alive with entrepreneurial spirit and cultural vibrancy, to our commitment to preserving green spaces and nurturing a sense of belonging, Opelika thrives as a beacon of authenticity and inclusivity. With a steadfast focus on education, innovation, and environmental stewardship, we embrace the future while honoring our roots, ensuring that Opelika remains a place where both tradition and progress flourish harmoniously. Through our pledge, we plan to issue a proclamation, launch a pr campaign to encourage residents to plant monarch gardens, plant or maintain a monarch or pollinator-friendly demonstration garden, plant milkweed and pollinator-friendly native nectar plants and display educational signs at monarch gardens.
