Pledge Summary

Angleton, the County Seat of Brazoria County, prides itself on community spirit and a small-town atmosphere within the Houston metropolitan area. Angleton is approximately 11.3 square miles in size and has a very diverse population of just under 20,000 residents. Mayor Perez of Angleton, TX has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with their signing of the Mayor’ Monarch Pledge. Mayor Perez looks forward to motivating residents and supporting Keep Angleton Beautiful and City staff in building more pollinator habitats throughout the city.

Communications and Convening

  • Create a community art project to enhance and promote monarch and pollinator conservation as well as cultural awareness and recognition.
  • Engage with gardening leaders and partners (e.g., Master Naturalists, Master Gardeners, Nature Centers, Native Plant Society Chapters , other long-standing and influential community leaders) to support monarch butterfly conservation.

Program and Demonstration Gardens

  • Host or support a native seed or plant sale, giveaway or swap.
