City of Parma

Parma, OH

Timothy DeGeeter

Mayor

Pledge Summary

The City of Parma is the seventh largest city in Ohio and Cleveland’s largest suburb with a population of more than 81,000 residents. Despite its size and development, this inner-ring suburb boasts many recreational parks, an urban working farm located in the city’s center, the Watershed Stewardship Center and the 326-acre Metroparks West Creek Reservation. Parma is also headquarters to West Creek Conservancy, a nonprofit organization founded by Parma citizens and created to enrich the lives of all people in Northeast Ohio by conserving natural habitats and restoring the region’s ecological value. Parma Mayor Tim DeGeeter has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with the signing of the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge. In line with the city’s efforts to preserve greenspace and connect residents to the great outdoors, the city wants to engage residents in building pollinator friendly habitats to help preserve our ecosystem.
