With a population of approximately 5,100, the city is nestled on the banks of Belton Lake, surrounded by a diverse array of wildlife and boasting the stunningly restored Kleypas Park. As a city situated along the migration path of the monarch butterfly, Morgan's Point Resort is committed to preserving and promoting monarchs and other pollinators through community-driven education initiatives. By signing the Mayor's Monarch Pledge, the city proudly affirms its dedication to creating a monarch-friendly environment and fostering a deep connection between its residents and the natural world.

Launch or maintain a public communication effort to encourage residents to plant monarch gardens at their homes or in their neighborhoods. (If you have community members who speak a language other than English, we encourage you to also communicate in that language; Champion Pledges must communicate in that language.)
Issue a proclamation to raise awareness about the decline of the monarch butterfly and the species’ need for habitat. This proclamation must incorporate a focus on monarch conservation.
