Inglewood is a city in southwestern Los Angeles County, California, in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. A city with a population of over 107,000, Inglewood is nestled in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, near Sofi Stadium, the Kia Forum, and Los Angeles International Airport. The City is home to many community gardens. Mayor Butts is pleased to support monarch and pollinator conservation through participation in the Mayor's Monarch Challenge and looks forward to engaging Inglewood residents to do the same.

Action Items Committed for 2022

Communications and Convening ▸

Create a community art project to enhance and promote monarch and pollinator conservation as well as cultural awareness and recognition.
Issue a proclamation to raise awareness about the decline of the monarch butterfly and the species’ need for habitat. This proclamation must incorporate a focus on monarch conservation.

Program and Demonstration Gardens ▸

Add or maintain native milkweed and nectar-producing plants in gardens in the community.
