The City of Pharr is located in an area considered the monarch highway and the importance to conserve our native habitat for all native plants and animals is what has led us to pledge and continue to commit to saving our wildlife. The monarch being one of the most important while indirectly helping other plants and animals in the process.

Communications and Convening ▸

Issue a proclamation to raise awareness about the decline of the monarch butterfly and the species’ need for habitat. This proclamation must incorporate a focus on monarch conservation.

Program and Demonstration Gardens ▸

Plant or maintain a monarch and pollinator-friendly demonstration garden at City Hall or another prominent or culturally significant community location.
Display educational signage at monarch gardens and pollinator habitat.
