ALHAMBRA

ALHAMBRA, CA

Jeff Maloney

Mayor

Pledge Summary

Alhambra, CA is a city of 83,000 residents located just northeast of Downtown Los Angeles. We are a developed community with little open space, but we are interested in creating more biodiversity on both public and private properties. We anticipate improvements and renovations in our city parks that will emphasize plant diversity and California native plants, including native California milkweed species. Mayor Maloney is a member of the Theodore Payne Foundation for Wild Flowers & Native Plants and the California Native Plant Society and is an avid supporter of expanding the use and inclusion of California native plants and milkweed. In his free time, he enjoys tending to his own California native and pollinator garden at his own home and is currently growing several types of native Asclepias species from seed.
