City of Yukon

Yukon, OK

Shelli Selby

Mayor

Pledge Summary

Yukon is a suburb just outside of Oklahoma City with a population of over 27,000 and a rich farming and ranching history. Located along the Chisholm Trail, which served as a great migration for cattle, the city hopes to establish itself as a migration point for Monarch butterflies. With a monarch waystation already established in one of the cities parks and another 10 Monarch Waystations, located across the city, Yukon is pollinator-friendly. Yukon has an active Parks and Recreation Department that is interested in developing and implementing Monarch habitats with plans of adding another city Monarch way station in 2022.
