Pledge Summary

The Town of Richmond is located in the Western Finger Lakes Region of New York and has a population of approximately 3,500 people. The Town's commercial center is located at the north end of Honeoye Lake. The Town of Richmond Parks and Recreation Committee is pledging to increase awareness of monarch and pollinator conservation in the community and hopes to have multiple avenues for education and action to engage town residents.

Communications and Convening ▸

Engage with city parks and recreation, public works, sustainability, and other relevant staff to identify opportunities to revise and maintain mowing programs and milkweed / native nectar plant planting programs.

Program and Demonstration Gardens ▸

Host or support a native seed or plant sale, giveaway or swap.
Launch, expand, or continue an invasive species removal program that will support the re-establishment of native habitat for monarch butterflies and other pollinators.
