City of South Beloit

South Beloit, IL

Ted Rehl

Mayor

Pledge Summary

South Beloit is a city located in Winnebago County, Illinois. It sits along the IL and WI border. Our population is nearly 8000. Nature at The Confluence was built in 2017 on a former dumping area along Turtle Creek and the Rock River. A new 6 acre prairie and an educational pollinator garden surround the 2200 square foot indoor Nature Learning Center. Nature At The Confluence offers a live monarch exhibit, monarch educational programs and gives away milkweed seeds. When the center opened there were 10 stems of Common Milkweed on the property, and a 2020 survey shows over 200 stems. We have also introduced 3 other milkweed varieties.
