The Town of Morrisville is located in the Piedmont Region of North Carolina in Wake County and has a population of approximately 30,000. Proud of our tree canopy and many greenways our families enjoy the outdoors a great deal. Mayor TJ Cawley has committed to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with their signing of the Mayors' Monarch Pledge and looks forward to engaging residents in building more pollinator habitat throughout Morrisville where we all #LiveConnectedLiveWell and subscribe to the idea that #EveryDayIsEarthDay.

Communications and Convening ▸

Issue a proclamation to raise awareness about the decline of the monarch butterfly and the species’ need for habitat. This proclamation must incorporate a focus on monarch conservation.

Program and Demonstration Gardens ▸

Host or support a native seed or plant sale, giveaway or swap.
Add or maintain native milkweed and nectar-producing plants in gardens in the community.
