City of Nacogdoches

Nacogdoches, TX

Shelley Brophy

Mayor

Pledge Summary

Nacogdoches is a city in the Piney Woods of East Texas. Known as the "Oldest Town in Texas," Nacogdoches is home to Stephen F. Austin State University, plentiful gardens and natural areas, and five National Register Historic Districts. Citizens here take pride in being designated the Garden Capital of Texas and visitors come from around the country to enjoy the azalea blooms each year. A partnership with National Wildlife Federation is a perfect match and this pledge will help uphold and further goals already in motion to expand native plant areas and educate residents. Staff are well aware of the important role Texas plays in the monarch migration route and will do what they can to promote monarch and pollinator habitat.
