Pledge Summary

The Village of Lincolnshire is located in southeast Lake County, approximately 34 miles from downtown Chicago. The Village encompasses 4.58 square miles and is generally bordered on the north and northwest by Vernon Hills; on the south and southwest by Riverwoods and Buffalo Grove, and on the east by Bannockburn and Lake Forest. Lincolnshire is characterized by higher than average household earnings; highly educated residents; and a diverse population encompassing all ages, occupations, and incomes. A growing population of middle to high-income households live within a three-mile radius of the Village.

Program and Demonstration Gardens

  • Plant milkweed and pollinator-friendly native nectar plants along roadsides, medians, or public rights-of-way.
  • Launch, expand, or continue an invasive species removal program that will support the re-establishment of native habitat for monarch butterflies and other pollinators.

Systems Change

  • Launch, expand, or continue an effort to change municipal planting ordinances and practices to include more native milkweed and native nectar producing plants at city properties.
