Please describe the methods of public communication below (e.g., printed materials, social media, print media).

A series of emails was sent to residents to identify two projects to submit for the 2023 pledge. Each of the emails above has included attached informational brochures, information about a local native gardening seminar and native plant sale. Eleven residents responded with interest. Two were working on large projects that were already being restored to native plantings and were well positioned to focus on Monarch friendly species. The first project is a HOA common area of a Subdivision. This common area was dedicated to conservation as part of the subdivision approval and has recently been undergoing work by the residents to clear out invasive species. They plan to focus primarily on Monarch attracting species as they replace invasives with natives. The second is a private landowner property of just under 3-acres. The owners have committed 2-acres to creation of a native prairie. One acre is almost complete. The second acre will be undertaken this year as part of the Mayor's Monarch Pledge and will focus primarily on Monarch attracting species of natives. A meeting of all eleven participants is being planned for mid-April, to coordinate them into a sharing, supporting group that can sustain itself in the long term.

Launch, expand, or continue an invasive species removal program that will support the re-establishment of native habitat for monarch butterflies and other pollinators.
